2018 Luke Lambert

Yarra Vines

Luke Lambert needs little to no introduction anymore. Slowly making his way onto first-class wine lists and in boutique shops over the last decade, he garnered attention for his low-intervention approach to winemaking and his wildly perfumed wines with moderate alcohol, fresh acidities, powdery tannins, and limited oak influence.

This week we have another stellar release from Luke with his 2018 vintage, but, as is always the case with his stuff, quantities are limited so first in best dressed!

Luciano Sandrone

Sandrone Vines

This year's harvest marked Luciano Sandrone's 40th vintage under his own label (with many more beforehand as a grape grower). This spectacular achievement underlines how much of a revered and iconic producer he has become over the years, from virtually pioneering single cru wines in the region to producing consistently dazzling offerings year after year, the estate's offerings never cease to impress. We were lucky to taste Luciano’s wines just recently, and are proud to offer the stunning 2014 release both in bottle and MAGNUM, plus the rare Sibi et Paucis museum wines - all the details below. Enjoy!

2016 Akitu

Akitu vineyard and mountains

We have another cracking offer from Lake Wanaka this week with the exceptional Pinots of Akitu. As opposed to the deep and extracted Rippon wines we offered late March, Akitu is lighter and extremely pure, with dizzying perfume and gorgeous texture. The Estate only produces two Pinot Noirs, planted over a minuscule 12 hectares, and to say that they do it well would be an understatement - raking in awards both nationally and internationally, and with PJ Charteris at the helm of winemaking, it's no surprise Akitu won the People's Choice Award for Best Producer at Pinot Palooza 2018.
