McLaren Vale's Yangarra produces single-vineyard wines from biodynamically farmed grapes with a focus on the traditional Southern Rhône varieties like Shiraz and Grenache. Yangarra’s combination of rare geologies, moderate altitude, abundant sunshine and cool evening breezes make it perfect for growing those varieties and that's readily reflected in their excellent offerings. This week we are honoured to be able to offer you some of their fantastic new releases - including the stunning 98 Points High Sands Grenache (planted in 1946!) and the impressive Iron Heart Shiraz.
Château La Nerthe has a rich winemaking history, stretching back to the 16th Century, but it was only in the 1980s that its true potential has been realized when the Richard family bought the Estate. Revamping everything and moving its winegrowing practises towards organics principles, blending modern stainless steel use with old cement vats and carefully looked after by a succession of extremely talented winemakers, the Estate has progressively taken back its place as one of the best of the appellation.
On offer today are the cult wines of Dan Standish - now not much is known about this 2017 release, but what we do know is that we absolutely love his wines, year in year out, for their polished elegance, restrained power and for their sense of place - think of his wines as being a snapshot of their respective terroirs.
