Aroma A rich and heady mix of toasted almonds, peanut brittle, toasted sesame seeds and crème brulee. Palate Lovely balance. Full flavoured and rich--salted caramel, butterscotch, liqueur figs with a smooth vanilla creaminess Style Tawny styles refer to fortified wines that have been blended using red grape varietals, which in the Barossa, typically include Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre. Often, Tawny styles are carefully blended from a range of vintage years to achieve a consistent style and minimum age. The 21 year old Para Tawny however stands alone as a single vintage wine, whereby the most select parcels of 1997 vintage wine are drawn from barrel and bottled as a special celebratory release. Its style therefore has the added complexity of being a reflection of the growing conditions during a singular season. Winemaker's Comments Lifted, elegant, rich in flavour - another fine example of single vintage Tawny from extended barrel maturation.
