"Hand-picked, chilled overnight, whole bunch-pressed, wild-fermented in new and used French oak, limited lees contact. Regarded by Julian Langworthy as the best yet, and it's easy to see why. Glinting straw-green; the palate is almost aching in its intensity and length, arcing through white peach, nectarine, grapefruit zest and mouthwatering acidity. The finish and aftertaste give a high fidelity replay of all that has gone before." - 97 points, James Halliday (tasted in 2022)

"Light to medium yellow colour; smoky sulfides to sniff, with Weetbix-like oak, and a touch of roasted hazelnut. Lemon and grapefruit flavours. The palate is taut and lean, dry and savoury with a slight grip. It has some depth in the middle-palate, and a long carry. A very tidy wine.- 92 points, Huon Hooke (tasted in 2017)

"Now ranked among the finest of Margaret River Chardonnays, and sourced primarily from Wilyabrup, this has subtle yet minerally oyster shell aromas, amazing depth and intensity of savoury fruit flavours, and zingy shale notes to finish." - 95 points, Peter Forrestal

"Crikey. Everything here is all just so. It’s ripe, but not too ripe. Fresh, but not overly acidic. Smoky and modern, though the fruit isn’t smothered. It has an almond and cashew richness, but retains purity of fruit. Flavours? White peach, barely ripe pineapple, ruby red grapefruit, spice and sweet lime, with a touch of nougat. From sip to swallow, it forms an unbroken line of Chardonnay pleasure. Texture is gently chalky. The finish has length, crunch and comes in high definition. You’d be mad not to." - 96 points, Gary Walsh (tasted in 2016)

"A terrific chardonnay for this in-form producer. The powerful Margaret River chardonnay muscle has been nicely tamed and then built in the winery to round out with measure and balance. The intense stone fruits and flinty grapefruit aromas are framed in spicy, fresh-cut oak and almost chalky stony nuances. The palate has fleshy fruit that wrenches tight with assertive acid drive and tension. Drink now to 2020+" - 96 points, James Suckling (tasted in 2017)
