Description
"Jérome Flous, our Technical Director, is an ardent admirer of this wine: with good reason as it embodies a rare elegance, combining finesse and complexity. It is recognised as one of the top three Premiers Crus in GevreyChambertin, alongside ‘Cazetiers’ and ‘Clos Saint-Jacques’. Acquired in 2013, this south-facing 1-hectare parcel is planted on a combination of fossiliferous rock and clay soil. This wine, more nuanced and subtle than the Cazetiers, seduces with its delicacy and refinement." - Winemaker Notes
"A pretty, cool and restrained nose reluctantly offers up notes of red currant, earth, humus and a hint of sauvage, all of which is trimmed in a discreet application of wood. The vibrant and detailed flavors are relatively concentrated, at least in the context of the 2023 vintage, plus I like the punch plus the moderately austere and solidly persistent finish. This too needs better depth but that should only be a matter of patience." - 90-93 points, Allen Meadows
