Description
"This plot is located south of the "Grand Cru" appellations of Gevrey-Chambertin, on the moderately sloping part of the hillside facing due east. The vines are situated in the upper part of the appellation, where the
soil is rich in silt and gravelly scree, resulting in a fine and elegant wine. It offers aromas of red fruits (raspberry, blackcurrant) and black fruits (cherry, blackberry). The bouquet is rich and complex with
notes of spice, cocoa, and even rose and violet. The palate is full and long, the tannins are fresh and silky, and the aim is to preserve the salinity of the terroir. This wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new." - Domaine Tortochot
"A wafting, ripe and airy nose is also trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The succulent, round and equally seductively textured flavors contrast markedly with the somewhat chewy though not really hard finish where a touch of warmth slowly emerges." - Allen Meadows, 2022 Review
