Description
The Dugat family have been growers in Burgundy's Gevrey-Chambertin since the early 17th century; Loïc and Bernard Dugat-Py represent the 13th generation.
"One of the great premier crus of Meursault, Charmes is a large mid-slope vineyard in the south of the appellation, surrounded by Puligny-Montrachet's Combettes and Referts, and Meursault's Perrieres and Genevrieres. Aromas of white peach, with friable and delicate sea shell minerality. The palate is pure and open, bright and welcoming. A brilliant example of what Loïc's new project is capable of." - Importers Notes
"The wines of Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py are considered by Burgundy aficionados to be one of the regions stars and an estate that produces true vin de garde. The domaines work in the vineyard is meticulous and Dugat-Py has been certified organic since 2003 with approximately 7.5 hectares of vineyards predominately in Gevrey-Chambertin, including four of the Grand Crus and small holdings in Vosne-Romanee, Pommard, Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault. Low intervention winemaking in the cellar with grapes picked relatively early, stems included and perfectly judged oak, result in wines that speak clearly of their appellation and age beautifully."- Importers Notes
