"Royale Réserve Brut is the purest expression of the house style, balancing structure, persistence and vinosity, and revealing the essential Pinot Noir character of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Crafted from first press must only, grapes are sourced from primarily Grand and 1er cru vineyards from the heart of Champagne. Partial malolactic fermentation and reserve wines aged in casks to allow the aromas to develop complexity. Moderate dosage to maintain a balance between freshness, fruitiness and vinosity without masking the wine’s character and purity. Aromas of vine blossom, linden, toast, summer berries and citrus lead to a full bodied, generous and long palate brimming with fresh, juicy red fruits. Enjoy as an aperitif or with charcuterie, oysters and other seafood or white meats." - House Notes
"Medium straw-yellow colour; bready yeast and lightly toasty bouquet, the flavour full and rich with fluffy mousse and a notable touch of sweetness at the core, then a dry finish thanks to tannin and acidity. Voluminous flavour and aldehydes full on the finish and aftertaste." - 94 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
"A distinctly red-berry nose – all red currants and small forest fruit. Red Delicious apple has such a telltale Pinot scent. The palate has pure, bright apple fruit, a lemony verve, and a very delicate mousse backed by gently salty autolysis. Vanilla oak comes through, like the custard on an apple crumble, carrying freshness and flavour until the lingering finish." - 94 Points, Panel Tasting by Decanter
