Description
"The champagne has delightful scents of lemon blossom, stephanotis, cream honeysuckle, meadow flowers and white phalaenopsis orchids. The nose is so enticing, and the soft golden colour with glints of green adds to the beauty of this wine. A harmonious complexity displays itself in the form of white nectarines, pink lady apple, custard apple, grapefruit and lemons. The exploding citrus really stands out in this champagne, reflecting the Côte des Blancs, and then the stone fruit & pear characters of the northern terroirs of Montagne de Reims. A wonderful feel of chalk and mineral protrudes, gently covered by lemon sherbet and grated blanched cashews; such harmonious style. It is a base of 2019, with the reserve 2018 showing strongly and 2017 giving a layer of richness and maturity. It has an impressive complexity, is perfectly balanced, and has a mousse that keeps persisting. The champagne has the privilege of prolonged ageing in their amazing chalk caves – dug by the Romans. It has glorious elegance, delicacy and finishes with an exquisite length. It is one of my favourite blanc de blancs, and I have several in my cellar – awaiting marvelous celebrations!" - Bernadette O'Shea, Champagne Consultant, The Wine Emporium
"Bright, light straw yellow colour; curing meadow had aromas; dried white flowers, while the palate is very dry and intense, penetrating and long. Lemon-peel and dried-flower flavours predominate with a creamy, waxy side, while the intensity is excellent and the dry balance seriously refreshing. The purity is so impressive. An appetising blanc de blancs that is high quality and very more-ish." - 96 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
