Description / Reviews
"Light cherry hue. A creature from this very coldest of seasons, this carries aromas of red apple skin, raspberry and sour cherry. Then comes a twist of orange peel and the typically beguiling, very Brunnen site specific mix of spices: angelica, fennel seed and even a little liquorice root leaning into more bark and forest floor-derived autumnal notes. The palate is light as per the season dictates but built deceptively through vine age, low cropping levels and natural acidity. More of the light raspberry and hints of sweet wood spice, and an earthen tannin persistence." - Winemaker Notes
"100% whole berry, wild ferment, mlf, aged in barrique for 18 months (one in five barrels new oak), unfiltered. A distinctive beauty of a pinot noir, linear and delicate in its youth, revealing a super cool and impressive Beechworth charm. It's the florals that totally seduce – rosehip, rose, pressed flowers – in a scent filled with cherry, cranberry, red berries and wild bramble, with background herbals, earth and spice. Moves finely, brightly across the tongue in tight formation with signature fresh acid crunch. You could argue it needs more time in bottle, and more time to breathe when just opened. Good advice either way." - 95 Points, Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
