"Our 2024 Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of orange blossom, melon and pineapple. On first impression there are notes of musk, passionfruit and banana peel, followed by the core of fruit on display from the nose. Made in a fumé style by maturation in aged Austrian foudres and a large Italian cocciopesto amphora, this wine is gentle and has a fine line of acid with a long, astringent yet fresh finish. "Smoky, thistle-y, textural, good concentration of fruit without being overbearing. This is an excellent Sauvignon Blanc. The smoky textural aspect is the key here; the wine as a whole feels grapey, tastes flinty, pushes fruit where it needs to go, and presents as generally sophisticated.
