Description
"A wine of impressive concentration, with notes of ripe apple, citrus peel and a dash of spice. The texture is intense yet elegant, balancing the lively acidity and the rich extract. The grapes were gently pressed and carefully fermented before ageing in mostly used casks over two winters. Boillot compares the 2023 vintage to the accessibility of 2017 and the concentration of 2014, but only ageing this for at least a decade will prove him right." - 96 points, Charles Curtis MW
"The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Le Cailleret 1er Cru is the most finessed of these whites from Guillaume and Boillot. It is also the least giving of the wines today. Its energy, precision and overall nuance are compelling, though. Readers will have to be patient. Crushed rocks, mint, slate, white pepper and lemon peel take shape with a bit of time in the glass." - 92-95 points, Antonio Galloni
