Description
"Hints of Chamomile tea develop into freshly picked honeysuckle with baked brioche notes. Apricot kernels surrounded by flavours of pink grapefruit and lemon pith. Australian lemon myrtle expressions layer upon grounding flavours like crystallised ginger and poached quince. This wine is a textural experience; it’s less about overwhelming you with explosions of fruit – more about exercising restraint and subtlety on the palate. The complexity of Chenin. Floral earthiness to it, like paper daisies or a freshly brewed cup of chamomile tea with honey but it’s juxtaposed with citrusy pink grapefruit notes. A dance between two lovers, exercising restraint and subtlety. Bit of time in the glass gives it more of a robust maturity– but still earthy fruit characters like quince or baked apples. It’s complex and layered and finishes delightfully fresh." - Winemaker Notes
"For those who wonder about the suitability of chenin blanc in Victoria, wonder no more. Here is a wine of power and finesse, glorious and generous in flavour and velvety in texture. Deep yellow hues with a rich fusion of scents in jasmine, chamomile, spring blossom, yellow peach, pear and spiced apple. A spicy perkiness across the middle palate lifts what is a complex set of flavours and textures rich in stone fruits, nutty and savoury. Finishes with a lasting flourish of marzipan and ginger." - 95 Points, Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
