// Gold Medal - Clare Valley Wine Show 2025
"First released as the 'Florita Riesling' in 2004 by Jim Barry Wines, this micro-batch Riesling is made from grapes hand-selected from individual rows. Its best fruit comes from vines planted in shallow loamy soils and the vineyard has good air-drainage which alleviates the risk of frost. This micro-batch, super-premium Riesling is the fruit of years of patience. We selected individual rows where the terra rossa and loam barely cover the deep limestone below. To guarantee the freshness of these precious grapes, we carefully picked batches to precisely fill our membrane press in the chill of night and destemmed the bunches without crushing them." - Winemaker Notes
"Electric Riesling. This has it all. Vim and vigour driven by tart citrus fruit characters, a glacial, saline core, crunchy green apple, touches of slate and river pebble, and a general sense of being brittle, crisp and laced with distinct minerality. So refreshing and energetic in its dart-shaped, slim-line frame. Pristine as all get out, too. In its vogue, this is stupendous." - 95 Points, Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion
"Pale colour; shy, elusive nose, taking its time to produce lime, nettle and floral nuances. It's quite backward on the palate. Dry but soft and juicy, undeveloped at present, while the palate has lovely texture, is seamless and refined, and promises much if cellared." - 93 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
